"Macio"
“Macio” tem como disparador de uma série de desenhos que realizei durante uma visita a São Paulo em novembro de 2022: Um amigo bota a mão na minha nuca no metrô enquanto conversamos e eu comento como às vezes gosto de sentir a maciez da pele nessa área (efeito da hormonização que comecei mais cedo, em 2022) e como me agrada essa nova relação tátil com meu corpo. Faço um desenho no caderno no mesmo mês e no começo do ano seguinte faço a pintura aqui presente junto dos níveis hormonais de um dos meus exames de sangue que guardei.
Os contornos do desenho de 2022 e a escrita dos exames de sangue são transferidos para o painel com um papel usado em stencil de tatuagem mas agora com novas camadas que incorporam a linguagem pictórica e articulam essas anotações (escritas e imagéticas) para tecer uma narrativa sobre um pouco desse processo de transição e da costura desse novo corpo.
"Macio" (english translation)
“Macio” triggers a series of drawings I made during a visit to São Paulo in November 2022: A friend puts his hand on the back of my neck on the subway while we talk and I comment on how sometimes I like to feel the softness of my skin in this area (effect of the hormones I started earlier, in 2022) and how I like this new tactile relationship with my body. I made a drawing in my notebook that same month and at the beginning of the following year I painted the picture here, along with the hormone levels from one of my blood tests that I kept.
The contours of the 2022 drawing and the writing of the blood tests are transferred to the panel with a paper used in a tattoo stencil but now with new layers that incorporate the pictorial language and articulate these notes (written and imagery) to weave a narrative about a bit of this transition process and the sewing of this new body.
